Writing as a Teenager

Writing as a teenager is very boring. We, teenagers, hate to write papers for school but enjoy typing text messages. Teenagers have become very lazy to write a simple five paragraph essay or a one paragraph response to any topic. I can be included. I hate having to write papers on topics I don't enjoy. I take too long thinking of what I'm going to write down on a piece of paper but I am very quick on responding a text message. This can have an impact on my future but sometimes I just don't want to realize it.

  1. I agree with Janely's post . The reason is because she is right it is very boring and no one likes to really do them.

  2. I agree on the one hand with your post. Sometimes writing can be very boring for teenagers. On the other hand you could create your writing more creative to make it not too boring, for example you go out on a nice day and write about something which you are interested in. I totally agree with the statement "Teenagers have become very lazy..."

  3. Janely, you do have some statements that hit home for me. Like Robin says, your statement about teenagers becoming very lazy is very noticeable from my end. I mean, I have been teaching a long time and it seems strange to me to hear students telling me that "they didn't have time". When I hear that, I think that they chose to not make time and that they feel entitled to "not extend their learning" outside of school. What is interesting is that they still expect to pass classes even though they don't always work to their potential in the class. Also, I suppose they don't realize that there are people out their who bring home their work or they stay at work until they finish a project. Not every profession just checks out because it is time to leave! Thanks for sharing your opinion.

  4. I agree Janely, writing is really boring when it isn't something interesting or when you can't relate to the topic but it does have a big impact on your future. I personally love writing but I don't like writing essays in school.
